The School of Engineering and the Built Environment (EBE) is seeking to appoint three undergraduate students to undertake a 12 month work placement to support its activities in each of the following subject areas: 

  • Automotive Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering 
  • Civil Engineering. 

The successful candidates will be joining the Technical team within the school of Engineering and the Built Environment and will have completed year two of a relevant degree with appropriate content to one of the above four areas.

This is a multi-faceted role where the candidate will be expected to be responsible for activities which will include developing and presenting high quality technical demonstrations of appropriate subject specific concepts, preparing resources for teaching, providing technical and classroom support as well as contributing to Open Days, Applicant Visit Days and other course related events. There may also be opportunity to contribute to research and / or external activities associated with the subject areas.

The position will involve flexible working as required, including evenings and weekends.  It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be a student on a programme of study that is specific to one of these four subject areas. 

Strong technical, communication, problem solving and presentation skills will be advantageous for this role.
