The School of Engineering and the Built Environment (EBE) is seeking to appoint an undergraduate student to undertake a 12 month work placement to support the employability and outreach work of the Engineering Centre. The successful candidate will have completed year two of a relevant degree.

You will be working as part of a team to support the employability and outreach work of the Engineering Centre.

This is a multi-faceted role which includes:

    Developing a LinkedIn network of current engineering students (focus on recent graduates and level 6 in the first instance) to support the university DELHE data mining and supporting the activity of the centre through posting activity to LinkedIn / working with internal marketing.

    Supporting the industrial links of the centre, for example through supporting delivery of events such as International Women in Engineering Day, the Engineering Show/Innovation fest, WISE network.

    Developing materials and resources to support outreach activity.

    Working with course teams and grad+ to support the integration of employability added value to the curriculum.

    Supporting the departmental Athena Swan application.

    Other administrative tasks as directed by the placement supervisor.

    Supporting Open Days, Applicant Visit Days and other course related events. The position will involve flexible working as required, occasionally including evenings and weekends.

This post is only open to candidates already resident and studying on an undergraduate course in CEBE.

Strong technical, organisational, communication, problem solving and presentation skills will be advantageous for this role. A presentation will be required as part of the selection process.
