Joining the Birmingham School of Architecture and Design as a Part Time (3 days per week) Lecturer in Architecture you will be principally responsible for teaching design studio. One role is specifically for supporting the 2nd Year of the BA programme whilst the other role is to support the 3rd Year.

As the deputy year leader you will be principally responsible for working alongside the relevant year leader, teaching design studio, leading studio groups, and supporting teaching and delivery through lectures, workshops and other activities, as well as assisting with course administration.

We will look to you to ensure an excellent student experience through the use of relevant and inspiring learning, teaching, and assessment methods. You will also provide support and mentoring to individual students via our personal tutor system.

Other duties and opportunities may include assisting with cross School teaching and activities such as live project modules and ‘superstudio’, organising and leading student trips, research and/or enterprise work, and contributing to our overseas teaching commitments with our international partners.

Previous teaching experience is highly desirable (either as an academic or a Visiting Tutor) and industry experience is also welcomed. You should have excellent design and communication skills, as well as be able to contribute to another area of the curriculum such as history and theory, construction / technical studies, skills building, or professional studies via our Praxis programme.
