Visiting Lecturer - Biomedical Engineering

The Department of Life Sciences, is keen to hear from experienced Biomedical / Medical / Clinical Engineers with a background in; Sensor Design / Internet-of-Things (IOT) for Healthcare Applications, Medical Devices Design and applications, Virtual simulation for surgical applications, Healthcare or Clinical Technology Maintenance and Management, or who have mentored biomedical / clinical engineer trainees on a apprenticeship course, who are interested in taking on the role of Visiting Lecturer.

We are looking for an experienced individual with a detailed and up-to-date knowledge in the one or more of the above mentioned areas of Biomedical Engineering, to assist in the delivery of our undergraduate / post-graduate biomedical engineering curriculum. With appropriate administrative support from the module leaders from the faculty end, the visiting lecturer(s) will enable the delivery of; teaching, on-line seminars, tutorials and relevant assessments, associated with the above mentioned programme.

Applicants should also have excellent organisation, time management and presentation skills and a genuine passion and enthusiasm for developing and supporting the next generation of Biomedical Engineers.

Please note that Visiting Lecturer posts are part time, fixed term contracts for which a specific amount of hours work will be agreed between you and the Faculty. Visiting Lecturer posts are paid hourly and there are a range of pay rates dependant on the role.

As and when relevant teaching hours become available that your CV and experience are suitable for, you will be contacted by the Faculty directly to discuss in more detail. Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to hear back from the Faculty.

Recruitment pools will be closed at the end of September each year, at which point you will be contacted with an invite to resubmit your details for the following year’s recruitment pool if you would still like to be considered.
