Are you a talented educator who is passionate about teaching the next generation of Biomedical Scientists and Healthcare students? If so, Birmingham City University is looking to recruit you as a Visiting Lecturer.

Birmingham City University launched its Biomedical Sciences degree in 2017, from its expertise and strong reputation in Health Sciences. Following significant growth in the course, we are looking for experienced individuals to act as with a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of any field of the Biomedical Sciences to assist in the delivery of teaching, on-line seminars, tutorials and laboratory sessions.  Successful candidates would also be expected to contribute to Bioscience teaching on Healthcare courses such as Nursing and Paramedicine. 

Applicants should also have excellent organisation, time management and presentation skills and a genuine passion and enthusiasm for developing and supporting the next generation of Biomedical Scientists.

In applying for this vacancy, you will be submitting your details to a Visiting Lecturer recruitment pool. Please note that Visiting Lecturer posts are part time, fixed term contracts for which a specific amount of hours work will be agreed between you and the Faculty. Visiting Lecturer posts are paid hourly and there are a range of pay rates dependant on the role.

As and when relevant teaching hours become available that your CV and experience are suitable for, you will be contacted by the Faculty directly to discuss in more detail.  Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to hear back from the Faculty.

Recruitment pools will be closed at the end of September each year, at which point you will be contacted with an invite to resubmit your details for the following year’s recruitment pool if you would still like to be considered. This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Tier 2 visa under the points-based immigration system, however, applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
