Visiting Lecturer - Sociology and Criminology Department

Criminology and Sociology

Location:  Birmingham, City Centre Campus
Salary:  VT Hourly rate

We are looking for knowledgeable Visiting Tutors (VT’s) to teach across our undergraduate degrees in Criminology, and/or Sociology, and/or Black Studies.

The ideal candidate will have previous Higher Education teaching, assessment and marking experience, delivering pastoral and academic support. For Criminology, you should have a strong subject knowledge within the broad disciplinary field. For Sociology and/or Black Studies, please also indicate the type of teaching to which you might contribute, but we are currently interested in areas such as ‘Race’, Racism and Ethnicity, Sociology of the Media and Social Theory. You will be workingas part of a team, you will deliver seminars, workshops and tutorials across subjects.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Tier 2 visa under the points-based immigration system, however, applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
