An exciting opportunity exists for a committed and passionate Teaching Fellow/ Lecturer supporting the new and exciting programme Nursing Associate.  Following the implementation of the nursing associate role, the department is seeking candidates who uphold the overall mission of the University by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities, promoting academic enquiry and advancement of knowledge. Birmingham City University has been chosen as a Fast Follower site for implementation of the new Nursing Associate role and so a candidate with experience in apprenticeships is highly desirable for this particular post.

You will work closely with practice and university colleagues to support the trainee Nursing Associates and mentors in the clinical setting and act a module co-ordinator. You will also be expected to contribute to our research and scholarly activities. Previous experience of supporting students in the clinical setting is essential

You must hold at least a first degree in a Health related subject and demonstrate on-going personal and professional development and appropriate study around relevant subject matter. Applicants must also hold current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Part 1). Previous teaching in a Higher Education setting would be desirable, but the successful applicants would be offered a place on the University’s highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education programme.
