Our growing Life Sciences portfolio comes with a substantial investment in a state-of-the-art £41 million fully equipped facility for Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Sports Sciences, Sports Therapy, Physiology and related courses. We are looking to recruit a skilled technician to help deliver teaching support for new courses within the Faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to establish a career in technical services within a dynamic forward-thinking University.

As a graduate in a life science subject, you should ideally have at least one year experience in a technical support role in a higher education or industrial laboratory setting, and be able to carry out aseptic work, prepare solutions and reagents, and maintain laboratory equipment appropriately whilst working independently or collaboratively within the team. With knowledge of a range of biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology and cell biology techniques you will provide technical support and advice for practical teaching and research activities as part of a friendly and skilled technical team. The role requires a strong understanding of laboratory health & safety, good communication skills and a positive attitude.
