The Faculty of Health Education and Life Sciences in Birmingham City University is seeking exceptional candidates to lead through a period of unprecedented growth and development. Birmingham City University is investing £41 Million in a purpose built development. The 10,500m² building at City South Campus in Edgbaston will enable the University to offer a wide range of new health, life science and sports courses.

We are seeking to add to our academic department with an innovative lecturer/senior lecturer who will support the wide range of curricula within the Department of Sport and Exercise and contribute to the School Faculty and University’s strategic priorities.

The newly formed Department of Sport and Science has developed a range of academic programmes at UG and PG levels including a BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise. The post holder’s role will be to contribute across these programmes with a specific focus in one of the areas of sport and exercise.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about teaching and research and who can inspire their students. The post-holder will take a significant role in the delivery of core disciplines of Sport and Exercise Science, ideally contributing to the following areas: biomechanics, performance analysis, and research methods. Specific research expertise in these areas of Sport and Exercise Science is welcomed. Ideally the successful candidate will be BASES Accredited (or be willing to complete accreditation), have completed a PhD in a relevant discipline, and be research active.
