The Estates & Facilities department of Birmingham City University seeks to recruit a suitably experienced and qualified person to undertake the role of BMS Engineer.  The person appointed will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Building Management System (BMS) at Birmingham City University (BCU), which includes Schneider, Delta and Trend. The role will involce monitoring daily performance and proactively addressing issues to maintain suitable building conditions for users whilst minimising energy consumption. Manage or provide planned maintenance and reactive diagnosis and repairs to all elements of the control system, ensuring systems perform to optimum capabilities, minimising environmental impacts and energy consumption.

The post will also support the Carbon and Energy Reduction Officer (CERO) in the delivery of BCU’s Carbon Management Plan and ISO 14001:2015 certified Environmental Management System (EMS) by driving continuous improvement in energy performance. The successful candidate will have an appropriate higher level qualification, and be able to demonstrable experience of working with major BMS control systems such as Schneider, Delta or Trend systems.
